About This Course

Start your web development journey with this beginner-friendly HTML course, designed to help you understand how websites are structured and built from scratch. HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is the foundation of web development. In this course, you will learn how to create structured web pages using headings, paragraphs, links, images, lists, tables, forms, and semantic HTML elements. Through practical learning, you will understand how to organize website content, create navigation between pages, collect user input using forms, and build accessible, well-structured web pages. By the end of this course, you will apply your knowledge to a real-world project: building and deploying your own Personal Portfolio Website. Learning Path: Watch → Learn → Build → Deploy → Submit → Get Reviewed This course is suitable for students with no prior web development experience. Complete the practical assignment, publish your project online, and submit both your live website URL and GitHub repository URL for review. Note: HTML structures a webpage. Styling with CSS and advanced interactivity with JavaScript are separate skills.

Personal Portfolio Website — HTML Developer Challenge

Live Deployment Required

Build a professional, multi-section Personal Portfolio Website using HTML5 that introduces you, showcases your skills, highlights your projects, and allows visitors to contact you. Imagine you are a beginner developer applying for an internship. You need a personal website where recruiters, developers, and potential collaborators can learn about you and explore your work. Your task is to create a website with a clear structure, working navigation, project showcases, and a functional contact form interface. The website must be created using your own code, deployed to a publicly accessible URL, and uploaded to GitHub. Submission requirements: Live deployed website URL. GitHub repository URL containing the source code. A working and publicly accessible project. Clear HTML structure and readable code. The project will be reviewed against the mandatory features, code quality, accessibility, and deployment requirements. Certificates should be issued only after the project is approved.

Mandatory Features To Build:

  • Create a valid HTML5 document using the correct DOCTYPE declaration and document structure.
  • Add a descriptive page title and relevant metadata in the head section.
  • Build a header containing your name or portfolio identity.
  • Create a navigation menu linking to the main sections of the website.
  • Add an About Me section introducing yourself, your education, and your interests.
  • Create a Skills section displaying at least five technical or professional skills.
  • Build a Projects section showcasing at least three projects with titles, descriptions, and relevant links.
  • Include at least one image with meaningful alternative text.
  • Add an Education section listing your academic background.
  • Create a Contact section containing your email address or another appropriate public contact method.
  • Build a contact form interface with labeled name, email, and message fields and a submit button. A working backend is not required.
  • Add a footer containing your name, the current year, and relevant links.
  • Ensure navigation links point to the correct sections and internal links work correctly.
  • Use semantic HTML elements wherever appropriate.
  • Ensure the website is publicly accessible through a live deployment URL.
  • Upload all source files to a GitHub repository with a meaningful README.md file.
