About This Course

Learn the fundamentals of Full Stack Web Development through this free, beginner-friendly YouTube course by Intellipaat. This course introduces the technologies and concepts used to build modern web applications, starting with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript before progressing into React and Node.js. You will explore website structure and styling, JavaScript programming fundamentals, variables, operators, arrays, array methods, and loops. The course then introduces React concepts, including JSX, props, components, and React setup, followed by Node.js, its runtime architecture, installation, and practical demonstrations. You will also learn about the full stack development roadmap, essential development tools, clean coding practices, and common full stack developer interview questions. What you will build on SkillRockApply your learning by developing a Full Stack Task Manager application. Users should be able to create tasks, view existing tasks, update their status, and delete tasks. You will connect a frontend interface to a backend API and persist task data in a database. This project will help you move beyond watching tutorials and begin developing practical software engineering skills. Learning Path: Watch → Practice → Build → Deploy → Submit → Get Reviewed This course is suitable for beginners who want to understand how frontend and backend technologies work together. Some topics, including database integration, authentication, and production deployment, may require additional independent learning beyond the supplied video.

Course Assignment

Full Stack Task Manager — Build, Connect & Deploy

Live Deployment Required

Build a full stack Task Manager application that helps users organize their daily tasks through a simple web interface. Many students manage their academic assignments, personal goals, and project deadlines across different applications or handwritten notes. Create a centralized task management application where users can add tasks, view their task list, update task details, mark tasks as completed, and delete tasks. Your application must demonstrate the integration of a frontend interface, a backend API, and persistent database storage. The frontend should communicate with the backend using HTTP requests. Task data must be stored in a database so that tasks remain available after refreshing the page or restarting the application. The project must be deployed publicly, with its source code available in a GitHub repository. Required submissions: Live deployed application URL. GitHub repository URL. README.md with setup instructions, features, and technology stack. Brief explanation of how the frontend, backend, and database interact.

Mandatory Features To Build:

  • Create a clean, usable task management interface.
  • Display a list of tasks with their titles, descriptions, and completion status.
  • Allow users to create new tasks.
  • Allow users to view existing tasks.
  • Allow users to edit task titles and descriptions.
  • Allow users to mark tasks as completed or pending.
  • Allow users to delete tasks.
  • Implement a backend API to handle task creation, retrieval, updating, and deletion.
  • Connect the frontend to the backend using HTTP requests.
  • Store task data in a persistent database.
  • Validate required fields and reject invalid task submissions.
  • Display loading, success, empty, and error states appropriately.
  • Keep frontend, backend, and database-related code organized.
  • Provide a publicly accessible deployment of the application.
  • Upload the source code to GitHub and include a meaningful README.md.
  • Ensure the application does not expose database credentials, API secrets, or other sensitive configuration.
